Culture Shift! A Vision for Greener Audience Travel
Museums, music venues, theatres, arts centres and galleries unite! Join Green Arts Oxfordshire Network in a room full of Oxford’s cultural venues to build a creative vision for greener audience travel in our city. Audience travel is the largest source of emissions in the cultural sector, and this session will explore our collective power to create that cultural shift towards lower carbon transport options.
We aim to:
- Pool what we know about how our audiences travel to us, and where from.
- Explore sustainable transport options and how we can work together to make these as accessible and appealing as possible.
- Start the process of developing an attractive online infographic that displays greener travel choices. This will be created and designed by GAON, with some funding support from the RSA, for venues to share with their audiences.
This session will be facilitated by Jeremy Spafford, Director of the Old Fire Station.
Speakers include:
🌱 Caroline Jones, Director & CEO of The Story Museum
🌱 Kim Pickin, Founder and former Director of The Story Museum, GAON Advisory Board Member
🌱 Zuhura Plummer, Oxfordshire Liveable Streets
🌱 Councillor Anna Railton, Cabinet Member for Zero Carbon Oxford and Climate Justice
🌱 Laura Hancock, Broken Spoke Bike Co-op
🌱 Nina Brown, Director of The Tandem Collective, GAON Advisory Board Member
We hope you can join us! In the interest of limiting the scope 3 carbon emissions from this event, please consider public transport or active travel like walking on cycling to travel here, if that is a possibility for you.
