A Good Thing – An app making it easy for businesses to donate unwanted items to local charities.

Emmaus Oxford – The largest charity shop in Oxford. They offer a huge range of good quality, used and second-hand furniture and electrical items, as well as household goods, bric-a-brac, CDS, DVDs, and books. 

Environmental Impact Guide for Exhibitions – A free guide by the Design Museum which examines the opportunities for reducing impact across areas including shipping and transport, programming, design and construction, materials, communications and energy use. 

Follow @greendesigns_ – ‘A sustainable design playform’. Discover eco brands and sustainable design concepts.

Freecycle Oxford –  A grassroots & entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving and getting stuff for free in their own Towns. It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills.

Making Design Circular with Katie Treggiden – A podcast exploring the nuances, complexities and mindset shifts we all need to embrace to move towards a more circular and regenerative economy – seen through the lens of craft and design. 

Orinoco – Scrapstores in Banbury and Templars Square Cowley selling scrap items for art, crafts, play and creative projects as well as new art materials, refurbished tools and DIY stuff.

Oxfordshire Wood Recycling – Provides domestic and commercial wood collections, wood recycling, reclaimed wood and reclaimed wood furniture and are based in Abingdon.

RAW – RAW will collect any unwanted timber or sheet material from full panels/lengths of timber to off cuts and aim to reuse or recirculate as much as possible. They will cut timber and sheet material to specified sizes, and can be useful for smaller organisations and individual artists who are looking for smaller quantities of material and don’t have access to power tools/professional workshop facilities.

SHARE Oxford Library of Things – Enables you to borrow instead of buy items needed only occasionally, such as outdoor, domestic, cooking equipment and more. With anything from extension cables to disco balls, utilising this platform is a brilliant way to reduce the impact that your project could have on the planet. SHARE Oxford Repair Café – Got things which need some TLC, are perhaps a bit broken and you haven’t had the time or skills to fix them yourself? Don’t throw them away, bring them to SHARE Oxford’s regular repair café, where volunteers will have a go at fixing them.
