Makespace transform empty and underused buildings into affordable, community-driven places. We have hub spaces in Oxford, Abingdon, Wantage and Didcot, along with many other single-occupancy spaces across the county. Through these spaces, we aim to foster a diverse, mutually-supportive community that facilitates connection, skill sharing and collaboration.

We believe that some of the greatest challenges of our time – social, environmental and otherwise – are linked to the physical spaces we occupy. How our public spaces are designed, how we use them, and who can and can’t access them, have huge impacts on our lives and communities. While the use of these spaces may be temporary, our vision is long-term: our work is a catalyst to develop towns and cities that are community owned, people centred and climate safe – now and for future generations.

Providing top-class productions, featuring the best UK-based professionals alongside giving opportunity to the local young people to work in a professional production is a unique aspect of our work. Alongside our main-stage work, our continuing provision of education and outreach workshops available to any and all in the county and our ‘restoration’ programme in collaboration with oxford health NHS, Oxford Opera is committed to using music, theatre and the creative disciplines to enrich the lives of all members of the county of Oxfordshire which the company serves.

Adumbration Arts is a small business helping others to make art. Providing affordable working spaces, education and opportunities for artists and the public. Adumbration Arts is the studio provider for Ayres House Studios In Wallingford.

Geologise Theatre specialises in shows themed around science, climate change and the environment, predominantly for children, young people and families.

Established in 2017, Body Politic is a not-for-profit professional Hip Hop Dance Theatre company based in Oxford.

Body Politic is a flagship female-led organisation, whose work empowers the voices of young people from under-represented communities both, on and off the stage.

Body Politic is passionate about bringing cultural experiences to those facing significant barriers. It tackle big themes and challenging subjects and strives to create meaningful experiences for audiences and participants.

As well as professional touring, Body Politic provides vital life-changing work to young aspiring artists from diverse communities through an enriching programme of training, mentoring, paid opportunities, and internships.
